Fermented Foods (HNA Nourish Class)
Let’s journey into the culinary world of fermented foods. Fermentation is the centuries old process of preserving foods and packing flavor, but fermentation also packs food with numerous health benefits that support gut health, boost your immune system, and improve digestion. We’ll learn the process for making kimchi, sauerkraut, and preserved lemons, and then use them in yummy recipes. We will also start kombucha in the class and you will bring home a few servings for a later refreshment! Instructor Sharon Dunn will be joined by guest New Albany community member and kombucha expert, Leah Sadler! At the end of each Nourish class, participants come back together around one table to sample all the foods cooked during class and to share cooking techniques and their experiences working through the recipes. This community aspect is one of our favorite parts of each class!
