This opportunity to hear from the 12th Congressional District candidates\, State Senator Troy Balderson\, (Republican nominee) and Franklin County Recorder Danny O'Connor\, (Democratic nominee) is brought to you by the New Albany Chamber of Commerce. Moderated by Jo Ingles\, Statehouse News Bureau\, the candidates will answer questions about policy\, public concerns and attest to their qualifications to serve as your Congressman.\n\n\n\nWhen incumbent Representative Patrick Tiberi (R) resigned from office in January 2018\, the seat for Ohio's 12th Congressional District became open for the first time in 18 years. Governor John Kasich set the primaries for the special election for May 8\, and the general election for August 7. The winner of this special election will serve for five months until January 2019\, unless also elected in the regularly scheduled November general election. \n\n\n\nFranklin County Recorder Danny O'Connor (D) and State Senator Troy Balderson (R) won their parties' nomination in the May 8\, 2018 primary and now voters in Ohio's 12th Congressional District will elect a new representative to complete the remainder of the term in the United States House of Representatives on August 7. The 12th Congressional District is composed of Delaware\, Franklin\, Licking\, Marion\, Morrow\, Muskingum\, and Richland Counties.\n\n \n\nWhat issues matter to you? What topics do you want the candidates to address? What information will help you make your decision about whom to vote for in this election?
