SUMMARY:Mysteries of the Mounds
DESCRIPTION:There is so much to learn about our community\, the land\, and the ancient people that lived on the land long before us. "Summer Nature Adventures: Mysteries of the Mounds" offers families the opportunity to learn about the local Earthworks/Indigenous Mounds created thousands of years ago.\n\n\n\nJoin our the HNA nature team and guests from The Great Circle Alliance\, of Newark\, Ohio\, to explore stories\, ancient artifacts\, and symbols relating to these incredible mounds in Ohio. We will explore the stars\, the land\, animal symbols\, and stories using our senses.\n\n\n\nWe will take a nature walk for the last 45 minutes of our program through Rose Run Park\, along the creek. The land will guide us on this journey honoring and connecting our past\, present and future generations.\n\n\n\nWhen: Wednesday August 2 | 10 am - 12 pm\n\n\n\nWhere: Philip Heit Center + Rose Run Park\n\n\n\nRegistration Info: $28/family\n\n\n\nAbout the Instructors:\n\nMolly Scott (Healthy New Albany Nature Programs Coordinator) holds degrees in Child Development/Family Relations\, Early Childhood Education and has been a nature educator for nearly 15 years. She is a certified Forest Therapy Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and is certified with Project Learning Tree. Utilizing her Montessori training\, she has created nature-based programs and curriculum for Toddlers in Nature\, World of Wonder for Preschoolers\, Rewild Child\, and Yuck!\; along with many other nature programs. Molly's focus is to offer seasonal and sensory experiences for children and adults that connect them to nature and themselves. Molly believes connecting with the natural world is foundational for individual and community wellness.\n\n\n\nBelinda Gore (Great Circle Alliance) is a native of Ohio and is committed to strengthening and expanding the voices of the indigenous people of Ohio. As a former executive coach\, psychotherapist\, and consultant\, she has a passion for learning and teaching. She is the author of several books and travels globally and virtually to teach two systems of wisdom knowledge\, the Enneagram and Ancient Ritual Postures\, along with bringing awareness and appreciation of the local Hopewelll era peoples and their magnificent\n\nEarthworks to central Ohio. His experience from working within bicultural frameworks informs his current commitment to developing community awareness as well as artistic and educational programs focusing on contemporary and ancient indigenous people in Ohio. Marcus currently lives in Newark\, Ohio.
