Are you ready to begin babysitting? Whether you’re just starting out or have already been babysitting, you’re a candidate for Basic Babysitter training. Participants will learn the ins and outs of being a sitter that parents will invite back. Topics covered include: getting and accepting the job; basic baby care; medical emergencies; household emergencies; foods and snacks; behavior management; child development; and creative activities. Registration fee includes: educational materials, pizza lunch, babysitter success kit and certificates of attendance. Students must be at least 11 years old to attend Basic baby care and handling medical emergencies is taught by a nurse from Nationwide Children’s Hospital Nutrition and snacks taught by a registered dietician from Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Creative Activities and behavior management taught by a child life specialist or early childhood educator from Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
