Candidate Forum

The community is invited to the New Albany Candidate Forum, hosted by the New Albany Chamber of Commerce, on October 22, 2025.  The forum will feature candidates running for Plain Township Trustee and the New Albany-Plain Local Schools (NAPLS) Board of Education seats in the November 4, 2025 election. Moderated by Adrienne Robbins, this is an opportunity for community members to meet and hear directly from the candidates about their platforms, priorities, and vision for our township and schools.

Our goal is to create a welcoming, nonpartisan space that promotes civil discourse and community engagement. To maintain this atmosphere, no campaign materials-such as literature, banners, flags, signs, badges, or apparel-may be displayed, worn, or distributed at the event. See Candidate Forum Format & Rules here.

Plain Township Board of Trustees Race
Two seats on the Plain Township Board of Trustees are up for election. The candidates on the ballot are:

• Dave Ferguson (incumbent)
• Matthew P. Gauss 
• Kerri L. Mollard (incumbent)
• Hans A. Schell

New Albany-Plain Local Schools Board of Education Race
Three at-large seats on the New Albany-Plain Local School District Board of Education are up for election. The candidates on the ballot are:

• Coleen Barber
• John McClelland (incumbent)
• Gregory C. Walther
• Mark Wilson (incumbent)
