Dance Theatre of Harlem

The Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts (100 W. Dublin-Granville Rd., New Albany) 2011-2012 season continues on Tuesday, October 18 with the acclaimed Dance Theatre of Harlem Ensemble. Presented in collaboration with the King Arts Complex, this interactive theatrical experience reveals and demystifies the beauty and experiences found in the world of dance. This new generation of the Dance Theatre of Harlem is replete with exciting dancers bursting with energy and style. The Ensemble, made up of 15 dancers, has received rave reviews in venues across the country.

As the vibrant company warms up, a narrator explains the process of creating a dance artist. The audience gains insight and an insider’s perspective on how classical dancers are trained and how a program comes together. The performance is diverse with high energy contemporary pieces along with one-act ballets and dance suites, all costumed accordingly.
