Artist Opening Reception For Mary Burkhardt & Briden Schueren - Colorscapes

Hayley Gallery brings a new and exciting exhibit to the gallery on a monthly basis featuring a wide range of artists and mediums.

Mary Burkhardt - As an interior designer, Mary Burkhardt is surrounded by beautiful colors, shapes, patterns, and textures. These elements of design—along with a passion for travel, cooking, and fashion, naturally inform her art. Mary’s new work is a collection of whimsical themes including female figures in flowing dresses that move and swing, to ice cream cones that twist and melt. Portraits of women in classic, crisp, white shirts serve as vessels for organic bouquets and foliage representing thriving ideas and bold energy.

Briden Schueren - is an award-winning international queer trans artist, activist and business owner, who shares his life’s challenges and journey through his art. His works range in size and scale from 1” canvases to 40’ murals. He loves making art that pushes boundaries and makes people think outside of the societal norms. His art has a beautiful display of color, that makes you feel good, connected, and realize there is a deeper message behind it. Briden opened up BrickBox Studios, a local artist community space in Columbus Ohio in 2013. He is a member of the You Will Rise Project, an organization using art against bullying. Briden is the founder of the Trans Pride Committee, which was born from his time on the board of Stonewall Columbus, where he created Columbus’ first annual Trans Pride March.
