In this class you will be introduced to the 108 movements of the Taoist Tai Chi® set. The Taoist form of tai chi was developed specifically for health (rather than as a martial art). It involves slow movement, weight shifts, and gentle stretching and turning, engaging the whole body and producing a deep feeling of relaxation. Tai Chi has been proven to help improve balance and strength, reduce stress, increase flexibility, and even lower blood pressure. It's great for individuals of any age, but it's especially ideal for adults age 55+ and is one of the top exercises recommended for preventing falls. It is often thought of as moving meditation. In this 13-week series, you?ll learn the entire set of movements of this ancient practice.
