C.A.R.E Compassion and Resiliency Experience
C.A.R.E. is ideal for anyone experiencing repetitive, self-destructive behaviors. It is open to family members, caregivers and others requiring tools to cope with loved ones who are in crisis. Participants will discover a gentle and compassionate path to wellbeing through the holistic benefits of gentle movement, breathing, stillness, aromatherapy, and healing energy modalities. C.A.R.E. promotes a deeper sense of awareness, thus returning the body and mind to its natural state of balance. C.A.R.E. allows participants to develop an individualized resiliency plan to attain optimal outcomes for themselves or for those for whom they are providing care. Compassion And Resiliency Experience was developed by Lori Bower, M.Ed., E-RYT 500, and Urban Zen Integrative Therapist and Reiki Master Teacher as a method to facilitate wellbeing for those facing self-destructive behaviors, either directly or indirectly. Lori is an instructor at the Center for Integrative Health and Wellness at the Ohio State University (OSU) and is an instructor with Mindfulness in Motion, a mindfulness-based intervention that was developed, researched and validated at the OSU College of Medicine. As a Reiki Master Teacher, she provides training to healthcare professionals at the OSU Center for Integrative Medicine and travels the country providing Reiki training to healthcare providers and those working in allied health professions. Lori has been an integral contributor to the Urban Zen Integrative Therapy (UZIT) Program, a program blending Eastern healing techniques with Western medicine to create a conscious change in healthcare. Lori is a Senior Teacher and Mentor for UZIT and is a presenter at the Addiction Studies Institute at OSU. She has implemented UZIT Programs for Columbus Springs Dublin and Columbus Springs East Hospitals, two hospitals focused on mental health and addiction. She developed and is the Director of the UZIT Program for the Ronald McDonald House at Nationwide Children's Hospital and at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
