Part of the Innovate New Albany TIGER Talks Series: Our presenter is Eric Wagner of The Ohio State University Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME). Hello there! These models are utilized to determine if there really is a market for your product — prior to investing a lot of time and money. – Utilizing design for manufacturing methodology to ensure that the product can be developed and delivered to meet the promise of your identified value proposition. – Tools and resources in Central Ohio to facilitate bringing your product to the marketplace. – An overview of the Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME) and its various programs including I-Corps and the Manufacturing Extension Partnership. More about our speaker: Eric Wagner is the Collaboration Manager for The Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME) at The Ohio State University where he oversees the development of value-added projects for companies of all sizes across many industries. Prior to joining CDME, Eric worked at Ohio State’s Technology Commercialization Office (TCO) where he developed and executed a strategic roadmap for the university’s intellectual property and engineering technologies. While there, he participated in the development and launch of over 14 startups. Earlier in Eric’s career, he worked as a program manager at Southwest Research Institute (1998 -2000). He then joined D&SCI, an aerospace and defense research and commercialization start-up, as Senior Vice President. Over the next 12 years at D&SCI, he held positions of increasing responsibility including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer, culminating with a stint of 3.5 years as President. During Eric’s tenure, the company achieved revenues in excess of $270 million and grew to more than 800 employees. Eric teaches the Lean Business Model Canvas methodology for the I-Corps@Ohio program and guest lectures for university courses. He is a member of the Ohio TechAngels and he is an active angel investor. Eric holds a B.S. in Computer Science and an Executive MBA, both from Ohio State.
