Lift Like a Girl - Strength and Conditioning for Adolescents and Teens (Grades 8-10)
During this multi-week program (12 sessions total) Beth Morrison* will teach girls the fundamentals of strength and conditioning while increasing physical fitness for functional and athletic performance. Classes will utilize free weights, fitness equipment and bodyweight exercises to improve overall fitness and build well-rounded athletes. Special attention will be given to proper equipment use, form, injury prevention and goal setting. Workouts are scaled to meet every girl at her ability level and challenge her appropriately to build skill, capacity and confidence.
*About the Instructor: Beth Morrison is a certified Health Coach, nutrition coach, fitness instructor and Youth Exercise Specialist. She is the founder of Rise Strong Coaching, which provides fitness and nutrition coaching for women around the world. In addition to teaching a neighborhood bootcamp in New Albany and teen strength training classes at the Heit Center, Beth works with individuals and groups to help them achieve their wellness goals through developing sustainable habits in fitness and nutrition. She is passionate about creating a community where, collectively, women and girls overcome challenges and celebrate each other's accomplishments.
