On February 10th, Healthy New Albany is privileged to hear from J. Nwando Olayiwola*, MD, MPH, and gain her insight on the very complex topics of diversity, racism, and the experience of being a first-generation immigrant. As a family physician and Chair of the OSU Department of Family Medicine, Dr. Olayiwola will discuss her thoughts on why racism is a public health concern and how race impacts health and wellbeing. As a black woman and first-generation immigrant, Dr. Olayiwola will also share her own experiences with racism, xenophobia, and identity confusion. We are very excited to learn from Dr. Olayiwola and invite you to join us for this important conversation!
