New Albany Founder's Day Parade & Festival 2021

The annual Founders Day Celebration was started by the New Albany Historical Society in 1976 as part of the nation’s bicentennial celebration. The event has continued on in celebration of the founding fathers development of the area now known as Plain Township and the City of New Albany and is funded by donations from the community. About 7,000 people are welcomed each year to Founders Day and we're very excited to hold the event this year at Rose Run Park.

EVENT SCHEDULE:
8:00am Healthy New Albany Rose Run 5K
10:30am Rose Run Park Dedication

Following the Rose Run 5K, Healthy New Albany will sponsor various family activities around Rose Run Park, the Marx Library Garden and the Heit Center parking lot as a lead up to the Rose Run Park dedication, which will begin around 10:30 am. Mayor Spalding and other members of City Council will officially dedicate the park with New Albany families and businesses who helped make Rose Run Park a reality.

Fees/Admission

Free. For rides at the festival, some rides and activities are complimentary and some require tickets purchased the day of the event. Tickets are $1.25 per ticket or a book of 20 is $20. Carnival rides will take 1-5 tickets per rider.
