Biava on cello, his wife Ariane Sletner on violin, his aunt Blanca Uribe on piano, and his father Luis O. Biava on the podium.
Luis O. Biava is internationally renowned as a conductor for his work with symphony orchestras. Professor of Music at Temple University's Boyer College of Music, he has been Music Director and Conductor of the University's Symphony Orchestra since 1986. Maestro Biava served as conductor in residence emeritus for The Philadelphia Orchestra from 1994-2004, where he also served as principal second violin for nearly two decades.
The concert will culminate with the vibrant and energetic sounds of Stravinsky's Firebird Suite, an enchanted tale that has delighted generations.
Prior to the concert, join us for our Season Gala, featuring a silent auction, wine, and food generously donated by the New Albany Country Club. All proceeds benefit the New Albany Symphony. The concert and gala may be purchased as a package or separately.
