The State of New Albany Luncheon will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2017, 11:15 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Noah’s Event Venue, 175 E. Main Street, New Albany. Presented by the New Albany Chamber of Commerce, this annual community update provides a unique opportunity to hear community leaders recap the past year and share their perspective on new initiatives and vision for growth in New Albany.
Featured speakers include Sloan Spalding, Mayor, City of New Albany; Adrienne Joly, City of New Albany; Michael Sawyer, Superintendent, New Albany Plain Local Schools; and Cherie Nelson, Executive Director, New Albany Chamber of Commerce.
Over the past 20 years New Albany has been a model of successful Midwest development and 2017 was no exception. New Albany welcomed many new businesses recently including First & Main, Wesley Woods at New Albany, Fishel Hass Kim Albrecht Downey and The Estate at New Albany.
“The City of New Albany enjoys a cooperative and collaborative relationship with the local business community and non-profit sector,” expressed Mayor Sloan Spalding, “This annual event is a time to connect with the public and get updated on projects and progress within the schools, organizations, and businesses - in all areas private and public.”
Among topics expected to be covered are future improvements to enhance connections from Rose Run Park to Market Square shopping and dining, the school learning campus, McCoy Center, library and the Heit Center. Located in the heart of the community, future improvements to Rose Run could include more green space accentuating the natural beauty of the area, increased pedestrian accessibility and dedicated bike lanes.
