The City of New Albany is proud to host Light Ohio Blue for the first time in the campaign’s 11-year history. From May 6–16, 2026, communities across Ohio will come together to honor law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice and to show support for those who continue to serve each day.
Light Ohio Blue is a statewide campaign that encourages residents, businesses, and organizations to shine blue as a visible sign of appreciation and unity.
Honoring Ohio’s Fallen Officers
As we begin #LightOhioBlue2026, we remember the four Ohio law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty in 2025:
- Special Deputy Sheriff Larry Henderson, Jr. (Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office)
- Deputy Sheriff Daniel Weston Sherrer (Morrow County Sheriff’s Office)
- Police Officer Phillip C. Wagner (Lorain Police Department)
- Trooper Nicholas P. Cayton (Ohio State Highway Patrol)
Cruiser Caravan Kickoff
This year’s campaign will begin with the annual Memorial Cruiser Caravan on Wednesday, May 6 at 6:15 p.m., as law enforcement agencies from across the region take to the streets in tribute.
Community members are encouraged to line the route, display blue, and show their support as the procession passes.
