POSITION SUMMARY
A Recreation Center Front Desk job involves welcoming visitors, handling registrations (memberships, classes, rentals), answering phones/emails, processing payments, managing facility bookings, promoting programs, maintaining the reception area's cleanliness and appearance, enforcing policies, and ensuring a positive, safe, and informative experience for all patrons, acting as the primary point of contact. Key duties include operating booking software, providing program info, handling money, and maintaining a professional, helpful demeanor. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer Service: Greet visitors, answer questions (in-person, phone, email) about programs, memberships, and facilities.
  • Registration & Booking: Register patrons for activities, classes, and room rentals; manage facility schedules and reservations.
  • Financial Transactions: Receive and record payments (cash, credit), issue receipts, and handle daily cash-outs.
  • Membership Management: Check in members, process renewals, and promote membership benefits.
  • Facility Operations: Maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming reception area; assist with room setups as well as opening and closing of the facility.
  • Information & Promotion: Provide up-to-date info on classes, events, parks, and promotions.
  • Policy Enforcement: Ensure patrons adhere to center rules and procedures, maintaining a safe environment.
  • Administrative Tasks: Answer multi-line phones, take messages and perform clerical duties. 
  • Recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate action.
  • Must be 17 years of age or older.
